I recently bought a new laptop and had to re-install the game.
Apparently, my old laptop could not handle ReShade as well as I thought.
So, I had been playing with a preset with fewer shaders, unbeknownst to me.

It's business as usual within the household...
i.e., Anika taking care of everything.

It's Samantha's birthday, so I decided to have a party for her!

With both parents gone, family time/bonding is even more important now.
So, Anika invites her estranged brother, Aryan, and his family over.




Ooh — looks like we're celebration two things: kid #1, and upcoming kid #3!

Anika and her sister-in-law, Antonia, are quite good friends!
So it was a pleasure to see her!




However, her brother kept to himself. Old wounds aren't healed, I guess.
I don't blame him. Anika was quite nasty to him in the past.

Samantha ages up and gets a cute lil' makeover!




Aryan's kids are troublesome and misbehave so much.
One of the boys was swinging on the fridge door! Wtf!

The party was a success!
Bruh, I was counting down the seconds until it ended.




The rest of the night is spent with just the family.

I was hoping that Samantha would bond with her cousins,
but they mostly stuck with each other and created messes in their wake.

It looks like somebody is excited for their 1st day of school!
Maybe, she'll make a friend!

With Samantha aged up, I had hoped things would be a lil' easier on Anika...
But it's sooo far from the case! ( ͡ಥ ͜ʖ ͡ಥ)






This pregnancy is taking its toll on her!
She barely has the energy to care for herself, let alone lil' Madison.

I was terrified that the social worker would show up!

Carter hasn't been much help, so Anika decides to confront him over lunch.




Anika: Carter, dear! I really need you to step up.
I have a lot on my plate, and with another baby on the way...




Carter: But babe! I gotta focus on work, I can't do anymore!
Anyways, you're doing a great job all on your own. You don't need my help.




Anika: *stares in exhausted disbelief*

With everything going downhill, it's nice to know that at least one sim is doing well.
Samantha is excelling in school!

It's Madison's birthday!
She ages up OK this time around (phew!) and into a total cutie!




There was no birthday party this time, but a good time was still had!

Carter is, once again, left alone to care for his kids... I don't know how I keep letting this happening.
I blink and Anika is OUT. THE. DOOR!






Luckily, the girls can manage and entertain themselves.




So, there's less for Carter (and me) to stress over.

The round ends with a birthday for Cameron!

Carter is going through 'entire'-life crisis. Poor guy is always having some sort of meltdown.
Yeah, I was exciting for the kids getting together and bonding... but that went sideways real quick.
We will be sticking to the occasional phone call for the holidays LOL
